Flamenco Dancing is the traditional dance of Southern Spain, it's home; Andalucia. Imagine hot, passionate, sensual guitar music, women in frilled beautiful dresses, men dressed like matadors and the scene is set for Flamenco.

Flamenco is a highly popular dance discipline, from learning to dance to appreciative and excited spectators, enjoying this highly evocative dance.

Classes for dancing are carried out throughout the U.K. look out also for special holidays to go on a complete course, Dance Companies perform throughout the U.K and the world with their own shows and taking part in bigger shows.

Age
Young children enjoy the energy and the dressing up in beautiful, colourful clothing and start classes at around junior age this can carry on right through adulthood.

Ability
You do not need any special abilities or qualifications to dance, though if you want to take it further professional dance classes to obtain qualifications can be found throughout the U.K.

Description
Flamenco is an intoxicating mix, of sexy, sensual, passionate expression through dance. Sometimes classed as a folk dance of Spain in general, it actually began in the Spanish region of Andalucia and is believed to have derived from a mixture of Andalucia Culture, Islamic, Sephardic, and Gypsy cultures and quickly spread. Traditionally the only accompaniment to the dancing was singing derived from and transforming folk orientation, latterly the guitar joined to perform Flamenco as it is today.

Dedication
Flamenco is an energetic and fun dance to learn, with the swishing of skirts, the stamping of feet and clapping of hands to twists and turns, proform singularly, as a group or with a dance partner, most classes will practice once a week, though if your dedication is that of spectating look out for many of the shows and displays throughout the U.K and the world.

Potential
Potential to have so much fun, learn about a romantic and exiting culture, join a dance troop and perform professionally even enter competitions. Take it a step further and learn guitar and castanets to accompany the dancing.
