Showing dogs professionally or for fun is a great past time for many people, showing off their best furry friend to breeding and producing top class dogs.
Showing dogs for some is a huge interest and almost a career travelling the country to different shows, or entering your best friend into local competitions weather pedigree or not.
Shows take place throughout the U.K and all over the world, from the NEC Birmingham to local shows at fetes and village shows.
Many of the fun classes have a class especially for very young children from infant/junior age to show their prized pet, while the professional shows start from young adults.
Showing dogs is a fabulously rewarding past time, there are local and fun shows which incorporate classes such as 'Dog With The Waggiest Tail', 'Veterans' for older dogs, 'Young Handlers' and more, these classes are lots of fun. Professionally, dogs are judged on how they are bred, obedience and other tasks. You may find yourself travelling all over the U.K. to enter into the professional competitions this is when showing dogs becomes a way of life but a happy and fulfilling life.
If your aspirations run high and you want to be able to compete at top class shows such as Crufts, you will find yourself working through a course of competitions and getting a win or best placed dog in many competitions to be offered a place to exhibit at Crufts, rules and regulations are available from the Kennel Club and you will have to adhere to their rules. Entering these shows might mean long days travelling or time away from home.
