St. John members provide first aid cover wherever crowds gather, so that public events can take place safely. St John Ambulance, is a non competitive activity who's members are committed to teaching and providing First Aid and caring for people.

St. John Ambulance is one of the U.K.s largest and best known charitable organisations. The black and white uniforms worn by volunteers are a familiar and reassuring sight at many sporting and public events.
Location
St. John Ambulance is found anywhere and everywhere that the public gather together.
Age
With three quarters of membership aged under 25 years, St John Ambulance is a major youth organisation. Young members are split into Cadets (aged 10-18 years), and Badgers aged 6-10 years). There is no upper age limit.
Ability
Young members learn first aid , nursing and other life and social skills so that they may become responsible and caring members of society, they have fun and make new friends, and many will in time serve their community as adult members.
Description
St. John Ambulance has three functions. * To provide essential first aid cover at public gatherings. * To provide training in first aid techniques to schools, the general public and the workforce employed in industry, by offering a variety of courses ranging from 2 hours of basic life saving resuscitation and emergency aid techniques, to more extensive First Aid at work courses. * The provision of a caring service within the community, that provides respite care and training for carers.
