Paintball is a modern day sport of many versions in which players eliminate opponents from play by shooting them with paint filled, breakable, gelatin paintballs usually shot from a carbon dioxide or compressed air powered "paintball gun (marker)".

Location
Paintball is normally competed in commercial paintball parks, which charge for admission. These paintball parks usually feature different themed fields, (e.g. woods, jungle, city, or historical battlefield).

Both indoor and outdoor venues.

Age
There is no official age restriction in Paintball, although most commercial venues do have their own age restriction for their sight which may vary to suit the day or competition.
A minimum age of 10 or 12 years is normally considered acceptable.

Description
A game of paintball involves two opposing teams seeking to eliminate all of the other team's players or to complete some other objective, such as retrieving a flag.
Playes are eliminated by shooting (marking) them with a paintball pellet.
Team sizes vary to suit group and occasion.
Depending on the style of paintball played, a paintball game can last from seconds to an hour, although woodsball games can last longer.

Cost
Paintball equipment varies depending on the type of paintball game being played and the skill level of those playing. Every player, however, requires four basic pieces of equipment, all of which are normally supplied by the sight operator, and included within the sessions charge.

Mask: Absolutely necessary for players' protection.
Protective clothing.
Paintball gun (marker).
Paintballs: To eliminate other players.
