Skydiving is one of the most exciting sports of modern times. Dynamic and colourful, it offers both men and women total mastery of the air and the freedom to make the skies their own.

Competitions take place at Club, Regional (Grand Prix), National and International level and unlike most competitive sports, skydiving allows men and women to compete on a equal footing – the only limit to success being your own determination to win.

There are many locations spread across the UK and the world from where members of the public can get fully experienced tuition and parachute flights.

Ability
Parachuting has complex skills that take many jumps to master, but the basics are often fully understood and useful during the first few jumps. There are four basic areas of skill: basic safety, free fall maneuvers, parachute operation, and landing.
Description
There are several different competion disaplines within the sport of sky diving; Accuracy= Jumping from 3,000 feet competitors attempt to land on a 5cm disc Style-free fall gymnastics= competitors are judged on how quickly and precisely they perform set routines of loops and turns. Formation= a team has to perform a series of predetermined formations as many times as possible. Freestyle free flying. show a choreographed sequence usually involving head-down flying, stand-ups and sit ups.
Potential
Many skydivers skydive because it is the closest one can get to the dream of flying. Experienced skydivers will tell someone that in freefall, one can do anything a bird can do, except go back up.
