Stoolball is a game that dates back over 500 years and is the premise for cricket, played in a similar way with similar equipment teams are usually mixed.

Stoolball is a popular game with teams all over the country and the world, it has become so popular that in parts of the UK it has been taken up as a Pub Game.

Location
On any grassy area though there are pitches available at clubs, you can also play indoors if required.

From young children, there is no upper age limit.

There must be an understanding of the rules and a fair level of physical fitness.

Description
Stoolball is the original game of cricket and is over 500 years old, a stoolball team consists of 11 players and two teams play against each other, there are strong rules e.g. the bowling which must be when the batsman is ready and underarm only, both feet must be behind the 'Bowling Crease' if not a no ball is declared. The rules are similar to that of cricket though stoolball declares their rules are simpler. The game is played with an oval bat as opposed to a long one.
