Age
Swimming is one of the few activities that can be enjoyed throughout your life. Babies can be introduced to the pool once immunised and at the other end of the scale, the ASA provides competitive swimming opportunities for people in their 90s.
Ability
No specific qualifications are required although it is recommended you can swim a minimum of 25m to feel confident in the water.
Dedication
Individuals can swim as little or as often as they like. Professional swimmers spend more than 20 hours a week in the pool and can swim up to 70km.
