The amount of time Dedicated to writing is up to the individual. Some commit a set amount of time to writing each day while others write only when inspired to do so.

Keeping a diary, is both closely related to writing and a valuable resource. Poetry, Pen friends, Calligraphy, and book clubs are also closely related to writing as a pastime.

Financially writing costs nothing, in time it is expensive although the amount is completely up to the writer. If writing circles or weekend conferences on writing are attended, the cost is more attributable to a holiday than to writing.
