Air Scouts not to be confused with Air Corps Cadets, are a division of regular scouts with an interest in aviation.

Approximate joining age is 13 and you can then go on to become an udult helper so continuing the fun.
Description
Devised in 1941 Currently in 2006 approximately 10% of all Scouts in the UK are members of the 160 Air Scout Troops or Explorer Units. Not to be confused with ACO however Air Scout Troops are allowed to apply to the RAF to become recognized members through this they can receive special opportunities and trips. For this Recognition a regular 18 month inspection by a designated RAF Reserve Officer must take place. The ideas are based on fun and knowledge.
Dedication
Air scouts remain a dedicated and happy bunch meeting once or more a week.
Potential
Potential to obtain special privileges from the RAF these can include camps and trips. Potential to make lots of new friends.
Cost
Costs to consider are membership and uniform, check for up to date costs.
