Jogging as an activity; Is running at a slow or leisurely pace, un-competitively. The main intention being to increase fitness with less stress than actually running. Joggers may run (jog) alone, but often choose to run (jog) as a social group.

Popularity
Jogging has become in recent years one of the worlds most popular ways to keep fit, due largely to the flexibility and casual nature of the activity.

Location
Jogging may be undertaken anywhere, in the local streets or local park. Many runners take a route from home to work place, while others take a circular route from their home. Chosen routes may be flat or hilly and of a distance to suit the individual

Age
All ages of both male and female may enjoy the activity of jogging. Jogging is an athletic activity most suitable to the more elderly athlete and is particularly suitable to those who want to run in a mixed age group, or as a family.

Ability
Like other types of aerobic exercise, jogging is an excellent means of improving cardiovascular health, bone density and physical fitness.

Description
Jogging isn't a well-defined term and doesn't aim at achieving any specifically identifiable goal, jogging cannot be classified as a competitive sport. There isn't any clear set of rules by which competitors could be disqualified for cheating by transitioning from jogging to running. Jogging is often used by competitive runners as a means of active recovery during training. This jog might be carried out in much looser form, the purpose being to shake out the body and maintain circulation.

Dedication
In common with all physically demanding activities, jogging should be a regularly practised pastime. The beginner should only gradually build the distance or degree of course difficulty. Once fit and only when fit, you can if you choose, push yourself, but not to the limits, It is not clever, It is not sensible and it may do serious damage to your health.

Potential
As jogging is a non- competitive activity, there are no trophies to be won as such. The prize is in improving or maintaining your own personal fittness.
