anyone of any age can grow vegetables, don't be over ambitious. Children especially benefit, put a small area aside where they can grow their own produce, quick maturing produce are best for them such as runner beans, radish, lettuce and carrots.

There are no special abilities necessary for vegetable growing, nor physical restriction other than knowing your own physical limitation, don't be over ambitious and make a pleasurable pastime a chore, learn from your own experience.

Before taking up vegetable growing seek advice, read one of the many books, look around your neighbourhood, join a local horticultural society or look at the information printed on seed packets, as to what you can grow successfully in your area. Only grow what you like eating. Grow a small amount of a variety of crops, this is more interesting for you and helps prevent diseases and insects building up. Take local advice, there is always plenty available in gardening.
