Reenactment has become an extremely popular pastime over recent years with many clubs, groups and associations scattered all over the country. Individual groups normally concentrate on a specific period of time.
Location
Demonstrations and shows can be found at historical sites, schools or even in the local park or farmers field.
Age
There is no minimum age, lifestyle reenactment is very much a family activity, open to as wide an age range as possible. Young children as with any activity, must be supervised by an adult.

The ability to research your chosen period, and to just have fun, there are no formal skills required.
Description
Reenactment's are sometimes known as live or living history, when a group of people usually a club of society, choose an era from history, Roman, iron age, Saxon, or even early twentieth century. Activities can vary from reenacting for fun, show or demonstration purposes. At the beginning of a gathering all links with the twenty first century are severed, wristwatches, radios, mobile phones and convenience foods, all are banned for the reenactment period.
Dedication
If you choose to follow this as a regular interest, you will need to research the history of the chosen era, and spend hours making and recreating clothing and equipment of the time. Many people become recognized authorities on their chosen period.
Potential
The potential is to have lots of fun, learn a new interest and meet new friends, and important to many escape the pressures of the modern day rat race. Reenactment groups are often called upon to become extras in period film and television dramas.
