Most models are hand sculpted to various scales representing original live figures using two component epoxy putties. The components are mixed together to create a sculpting compound which hardens in a period of 1-3 hours.

Popularity
This is not greatly popular as in advertised but there are many clubs in the miniature world to which this hobby is affiliated.

Location
Locations are usually connected to places that enjoy simulated wargames, because of the complexity of layouts, usually found in Attics or taken over the garage and in clubs. Some people make a hobby of displaying their scenes for the general public.

Age
This more associated with the mature person, or a person who has made a study of the theatres of war and duplicate them. However any age group can make these.

Ability
As with all modelling their is a great deal of patience required and enthusiasm. No real special trade qualification is needed for this.

Description
A miniature figure?also known as a miniature or just a mini?is a small figurine commonly used in role playing games (RPGs) such as Dungeons & Dragons, or in tabletop wargames such as Heroclix, Mage Knight, and Warhammer. Though some games can be played without them, miniatures can help players to visualize factors that affect combat, such as which way each character is facing, who's fighting who, line of sight issues, and so on. Some miniatures are superbly sculpted and are collectible.

Dedication
The hobby of painting, collecting, and gaming with miniatures is descended from the toy soldier hobby. Traditionally, toy soldiers are sold prepainted, and miniatures are sold bare and require painting. This distinction is blurring with the recent introduction of prepainted plastic figures, such as those used in Clix games. However a great deal of dedication in the past has kept this hobby alive and the future will need the same.

Potential
Potential is there to display at exhibitions or national shows, if you are really good and get recognised there is the potential to be used for film sets and stage sets.

Closely Related Activities
