Snail racing is a long established novel activity, that is enjoying a revival after several years of being outlawed.
Location
Snail racing is found at various venues across the UK. in the Summertime, normally held as part of a fund raising event, most popular at public houses or village fete's.
Age
There is no official age restriction to owning or racing snails. Adults trying to keep superiority have been known to use such under handed tactics as sending children home to bed, in an attempt to stop fair competition.
Ability
Obvious advantages abilities to being a good snail racer are, the ability to stay awake to the end of the race, and the somewhat dubious ability of being able to spot a potential in form racing snail.
Description
Typically but by no means exclusively snails race over three distances the half yard sprint, the three yard endurance or the challenging one yard steeplechase. Snails in common with horse racing, start the race side by side first past the finishing post is declared the winner. Much betting on the outcome of the race is undertaken.
