Yoga is an ancient tradition from India having (in 2006) been practiced for over 2000 years, using subtle body exercises to help bring balance to both body and mind.

Popularity
In the 1960's and 70's yoga became a popular part of the hippy culture and some even saw it as a strange and immoral practice, though today the benefits on our health have been found to be beneficial, making it once of the most popular ways to relax.

Location
Yoga is so versatile that it can be carried out almost anywhere, many people practice in the privacy of their own homes, while others join a club, some people in the good weather like to take it outside, for a complete natural experience.

Age
Young children to no upper age limit can enjoy the benefits of Yoga.

Ability
You will need a fair amount of physical fitness, though Yoga can be practiced by many and even has benefits for pregnancy, always remember to check with a doctor first and use a good instructor.

Description
Yoga is one of the oldest forms of healing therapy used today, it is used for self improvement, attaining ones full potential, through breathing techniques, gentle exercise and mind control, when we combine these practices, we produce an inner calm and tranquility that channels deep into our mind and body, stimulating blood flow and lymph flow . The result is peace and harmony which translates into our everyday lives, helping us look better, have better health and cope with life more calmly.

There are many different moves helping many different parts of the body and also health issues, it is up to you weather you learn a full Yoga programme and integrate it into your life, or weather you seek it out to use it for specific areas of health and help.
