Rainbows is the youngest group of the girl guiding association and was created when it was found that girls starting school also required a club.

Usually held in village, memorial halls or community rooms.
Age
Rainbows start from aged 5 to age 7 when they then go on to become fully fledged Brownies.
Ability
You do not need any special abilities for Rainbows and they especially welcome children with special needs to come and join in fun as Rainbows is about friendship and fun.
Description
Rainbows is an exciting club for young girls who are to young to join the Brownies, it was felt a group was need when young girls starting school also wanted a club bu the age requirement for Brownies was too old. Rainbows is a gentle but exciting group, learning many craft and practical skills as well as singing, the platform for Rainbows is to socialise and have fun and they certainly do. There is a uniform of a green tabbard and once enrolled adorned with the Rainbows Badge.
Dedication
Rainbows usually follow the school term and meet once a week after school, when you become a fully fledged Rainbow is it required that you attend once a week to gain the full benefit of your new found Rainbow status.
Potential
Potential to have loads of fun and socialise in a safe an happy environment.
Voluntary Work
Adult helpers are always required, without the required number of helpers rainbows cannot run.

Look through HIPS Finder? to find your local Rainbows group and check for up to date membership costs, some groups will require a termly fee while others will allow a weekly payment this is usually works out to a few ?'s a week.
