Popularity
Soft Tip Darts is played by millions of people across the world, but has not proved popular in the United Kingdom, where we have grown up with a culture of Dart venues being provided free, in our social time meeting places.
Location
Being coin operated, Soft Tip Darts is normally played in social clubs, public houses and community centres. There is a free to use home version for those who want to play at home.
Age
Players of almost any age can play and enjoy Soft Tip Darts. More so than Steel Tip Darts in which sharp pointed darts are thrown.
Ability
Darts can be enjoyed by the widest of ranges of people of all abilities. A steady throwing arm is an obvious advantage, as is a firm grasp of arithmetic, as the game involves a lot of adding and subtracting of scores, tactically necessary.
Description
A game of darts is usually contested between two players, throwing alternately a series of three darts. Starting from a set score (normally 301 or 501) A player wins the round (leg) by reducing his score to zero, the last dart of the round must hit a double score or the inner circle of the bull. A throw that would reduce a players score to below zero does not count. There are three rounds (legs) to a game. Unlike steel Tip Darts, in Soft Tip Darts if a dart bounces out it still scores.
Dedication
Dedication necessary when playing darts depends entirely on the individual, whether playing socially, competitively or professionally. As with all sports to progress to higher levels of the game regular practise is essential darts is no exception. Darts is a game of throwing accuracy and mathematical tactics as well as great fun.
