Ability
Part of the charm of Quilling is that basic quilling is so easy to learn. More ambitious creations however, such as floral and animal pictures, and complex scenes, are produced with artistic vision and after many experiments and much practise.

Description
To quill, take a strip of paper and wrap it tightly around a stick-like object until you reach the end of the strip.

Removed from the stick. Maintain the shape by glueing the end, or release the tight circle slightly to create a looser circle.
Other shapes can be produced by pinching the basic circle.

The tight circles are perfect for flower centers. Leaves and other shapes are formed through pinching. These shapes include teardrop, marquise, half-circle, scrolls, and fringed flowers.

Dedication
Quilling originaly gained its name from the practise of winding paper around a quill to create the basic coil shape. other items such as toothpicks and needles can be used even your own finger. There are nowadays, specially designed inexpensive slotted tools which are available and commonly used.
