Snowboard Cross is a timed racing snow sport. Competitions are competed in KO round format by individuals in racing groups of four, who race over naturally occurring terrain and artificial features like jumps, rollers and banks on Snowboards.

Popularity
Snowboarding on the UKs artificial slopes might not be quite the same thing as riding on a mountain but you can snowboard! It hones your skills and builds the anticipation for those real mountain slopes.

Location
It is possible to Snowboard in the UK all year round, there are a number of venues found both indoors and out.There are three indoor slopes and loads of dry ski slopes. And the real thing is only a short flight away in Europe.

Age
Junior events start at around 12 years of age.

Ability
Competitive Snowboard Cross (On mountain courses) should only be attempted by extremly fit and experianced boarders, as a Snowboard Cross race requires skill, strength, and physical endurance.

Description
After a first round time trial, the fastest 32 compete in a knockout style series of rounds.In which groups of four skiers start simultaneously and race, the first two to cross the finish line advance to the next round until just four are left to contest the final.

Dedication
The course is marked by red and blue gates. triantgular flags mark the entrances to the obstacles, which include jumps varying from straight (kickers) to those encountered on an angle (spines), there are also huge banked corners.
