Paper-mâché, is a construction material that consists of pieces of paper, sometimes reinforced with textiles, stuck together using a wet paste such as glue, starch or wallpaper adhesive. The crafted object becomes solid when the paste dries.
Popularity
Despite the French sounding name, "papier mache" originated in China. Hundreds of years ago, the Chinese creations were hardened with layers of lacquer.
The craft of Paper-Mache is now practised around the world, you can make just about anything.

Paper- Mache is an activity that can be undertaken by all ages. From the youngest of children doing paper-mache work as a creative fun activity, with lots of mess. To the most talented and imaginative of adults making theatrical masks and props.

Description
The paper is cut or torn into strips, and soaked in the paste until saturated. The saturated pieces are then placed onto a surface and allowed to dry slowly. Altrernitivly the strips may be placed on an armature, or skeleton, often of wire mesh over a structural frame, or they can be placed on an object to create a cast. Oil or grease can be used as a release agent if needed. Once dried, the resulting material can be trimmed, smoothed and painted.
Dedication
The easiest basic form to use is a balloon, which can be popped when the creation has hardend. but you can use bowls, plates or even cardboard boxes. More immaginitive forms can be made out of light small meshed wire, shaped and then covered with paper mache.
Add two or three layers Paper-mache to your form, allow to dry and harden and it's ready to paint or decorate, `EASY`!
