Nordic Walking is the activity of walking assisted by the use of two specially designed ski poles, and has a specific technique which must be learnt correctly to fully benefit from the enhanced whole body exercise obtainable over natural walking.

Nordic Walking is rapidly growing as an alternative to ordinary fitness walking because it can easily be mastered and can be done year round in any climate anywhere by a person of any age or ability who might otherwise walk without poles.

Nordic Walking can be enjoyed alone in all the places where traditional walking is enjoyed. Nordic walkers can mix and walk with most walking groups. However there are many specialist Nordic walking groups and classes spread across the United Kingdom

Description
Nordic Walking combines the simplicity and accessibility of walking, with simultaneous core and upper body conditioning. The result is a full body workout, which means that you, burn up more calories and reduce the impact on the joints compared to walking without poles.
Benifits gained include; Releasing tension in the neck and shoulders / improving posture and gait / strengthening back and abdominal muscles. Resulting in the stamina to walk further and for longer.
