"Two men forward for a widow" is a Danish folk game, for couples.
On the shout from a Widow. A couple Slip hands and run away from each other, trying to avoid capture by the widow. The game object is to reunite with your mate, or become a widow.
Location
A Danish folk game (To mand frem for en enke).which can be played by a minimum of 5 people up to around 25 people. (1 widow and between 2 and 8 pairs.
Age
Played by children as a playground game / And by adults as a party game.
Ability
As a spontaneously played group tag game the only necessary ability take part in this game, is the ability to run and to enjoy yourself.
Description
Players line up in pairs behind each other. The pairs hold hands. The widow, stands at the front with his back to the pairs, and begins the game by clapping hands twice and shouting "Two man rather than a widow ... run!".
The rear pair then release each other's hands and run in opposite directions around the line of pairs. The widow must try to catch one of them. If successful the running pair reach each other again, without getting caught, form their pair again in the front of the line.
Dedication
The widow must now try again. With the new rear couple.
A captured player, now acts as the widow. The previous widow now takes his place in the front row alongside the un-captured person.
