Scurf boarding is a combination of surfing, snow boarding, and water skiing all in one. Scurf Boarding is basically water skiing behind a boat, on a single board instead of a pair of skis. Scurf boarders have the stance of a snow boarder.
Location
Ideal locations for Scurf Boarding are expanses of water such as. Sheltered Bays, large Rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. Scurf Boarding can cope with slightly choppier water than Water-skiing.
Age
There is no minimum age for this activity, youngsters learning the basics from as young as seven or eight years old. Rarely do youngsters compete in competitions under the age of twelve years.
Description
Within the confines of being pulled along by a boat, board riders can control their direction by balancing their weight on different sides of their board. This is used to zip back and forth behind the boat.
Dedication
Once fully competent, Leisure Scurf Boarders often diversify into the more ambitious and competitive disciplines of jumping, Slalom, Board Racing and Performing Tricks. The basic manoeuvres of which are described under; Water-ski jumping 559, Water-ski Slalom 560 and Trick Water-skiing 561.
