The NTC is a uniformed youth organisation for boys and girls. The Nautical Training Corps sets out to instruct young people, using the methods of the Royal Navy, offering adventure and excitment.

Popularity

Location
The Nautical Training Corps is an organisation based in the south of England, it has units established across Sussex, Hampshire, and Greater London. Each unit is known as a training ship.

Age
The Nautical Training Corps welcomes all girls and boys between the ages of eight to eighteen years.

Ability
The NTC aims to help young people develop their full potential through nautically based training. They are encouraged to develop self confidence and a sense of self worth. It offers opportunities to explore a wide range of experiences and activities.

Description
Our units use a structured training programme, based around a nautical theme, to encourage young people to stretch and develop themselves. Theoretical knowledge means little, unless you are able to use it. Young people are encouraged to use their new skills in a practical way, whether it is map reading on the hills, rock climbing, sailing a dinghy, playing in a marching band or enjoying one of the many other activities offered by the Corps.

Dedication
A member of The Nautical Training Corps is expected to attend regularly, these meetings are normally held weekly.

We understand the amount of commitment that people can give will vary, so we gauge how much we can expect people to do.
