Wargaming is a game that incorporates miniature figures and modelled terrain, to simulate historic or hypothetical battles. The battles are generally about tactical combat. Wargaming although mainly centred on the army can include sea or air battles.

Ability
Children may take up wargaming soley as a game of entertainment (playing with toy or model soldiers).
Serious wargamers need to posses a knowledge of military history, military equipment and tactics, also the ability for model making and painting.
Description
Wargaming can be played with counters on a table with coloured paper to denote differing terrain types. However a big part of the attraction of the hobby is the spectacle of painted miniatures moving around on a table amongst model trees, hills and other scenery.
Rules of engagement may vary depending on the scale (size) of models being used.
