Sprouts is a simple to understand, and fun to play, pencil and paper game that can be played by two, three or four players. Sprouts is a dot joining game which can be varied in difficulty to suit the age and ability of the players.
Location
Home, School or while traveling.
Age
With adult help, from the age of three years. Do not be misled, this is a game for all ages.
Ability
For beginners and young children only five dots to start with are suggested. For subsequent games more dots can be added to match ability and attention span, as is felt necessary.
Description
Draw dots randomly over the paper. The first player draws a line between any two dots, drawing another dot in the middle of that line. The next player draws a line between any two dots, and puts a dot in the middle of that line. No two lines may cross each other, but they don't have to be straight, so they can loop around other lines. Only three may emerge from any one dot. The dots put in the middle of the lines having already two lines connected, can only have one more line added.
Dedication
The game continues until no more lines can be drawn. The person who drew the final line is the winner.
