"Pin the Tail on the Donkey" is a popular party game played by groups of children. In which a picture of a donkey with a missing tail is tacked to a wall. the game object is for a blindfolded contestant to attempt to correctly position the tail.

The "donkey" outline is often replaced with depictions of something or someone else when played by teenagers and adults.

Description
First Blindfold the contestant, turn them round three times to disorientate them, then lead them so that they stand in front of the pin board with the donkey outline on, put the "tail" in their hand, with the drawing pin already attached. The contestant must push the "tail" into the pin board in what they think is the right position. The blindfold is removed and a mark made to record the position of the drawing pin.The player who pins their tail closest to the donkey's rear, wins.

Dedication
The game is generally played for its entertainment value, and not seriously competitive, "winning" being of marginal importance.
